Prof. Masaaki Katayama

Nagoya University, Japan, chair of IEEE Nagoya Section

Experience: 

Masaaki Katayama was born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1959. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Osaka University, Japan in 1981, 1983, and 1986, respectively, all in Communication Engineering. He was an Assistant Professor at Toyohashi University of Technology from 1986 to 1989, and a Lecturer at Osaka University from 1989 to 1992. In 1992, he joined Nagoya University as an associate professor and has been a professor since July 2001. He also worked at the College of Engineering of the University of Michigan from 1995 to 1996 as a visiting scholar.

His research is based on the physical and media-access layers of radio communication systems. His current research projects include, but are not limited to, smart energy network systems, reliable control with unreliable communications, optical wireless communications(OWC), power-line communications(PLC), and underwater communications(UWC).

He received the IEICE(was IECE) Shinohara Memorial Young Engineer Award in 1986, Distinguished Contributions Awards from Communications Society of IEICE three times in 1999, 2001, and 2006, and 2012 Outstanding.

Dr. Katayama is a fellow and the former chair of TC-Reliable Communication & Control of IEICE. He is also now serving as a chair of IEEE Nagoya Section.

Assoc. Prof. Hongliang Ren 

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Hong Kong, China

Experience: 

Hongliang Ren received his Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering (Specialized in Biomedical Engineering) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2008. He serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Automation Science & Engineering (T-ASE) and Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing (MBEC).  He has navigated his academic journey through Chinese University of Hong Kong, Johns Hopkins University, Children’s Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School, Children’s National Medical Center, United States, and National University of Singapore (NUS). He is currently Associate Professor, Department of Electronic Engineering at Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering at National University of Singapore.

His areas of interest include biorobotics, intelligent control, medical mechatronics, soft continuum robots, soft sensors, and multisensory learning in medical robotics. He is the recipient of NUS Young Investigator Award and Engineering Young Researcher Award, IAMBE Early Career Award 2018, Interstellar Early Career Investigator Award 2018, ICBHI Young Investigator Award 2019, and Health Longevity Catalyst Award 2022 by NAM & RGC.

Prof. Fushuan Wen 

IEEE Fellow, Zhejiang University, China

Experience: 

Fushuan Wen (Fellow, IEEE) received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 1985 and 1988, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 1991, all in electrical engineering.,He joined Zhejiang University as a Faculty Member with the School of Electrical Engineering in 1991, where he has been a Full Professor since 1997; he has also been a Full Professor with the Hainan Institute, Zhejiang University, since 2022. He is currently a part-time Distinguished Professor with Hangzhou Dianzi University, Hangzhou; a part-time Professor with the Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn, Estonia; and the Visiting Principal Research Scientist of the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society, Shenzhen, China. His research interests include power industry restructuring, power system alarm processing, fault diagnosis and restoration strategies, smart grids and electric vehicles, and artificial intelligence applications in power and integrated energy systems.,Dr. Wen has been listed in “Most Cited Chinese Researchers” for seven consecutive years since 2015 by Elsevier. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Energy Conversion and Economics (IET) and the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Automation of Electric Power Systems. He also serves as an editor, a subject editor, and an associate editor for several international journals.

Prof. & Dr. Aditi Sharma 

Nazarbayev University Kazakhstan

Experience: 

Aditi Sharma, Ph.D (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Tech. degree in Computer Science and engineering from Mody Institute of Technology and Science, Lakshmangarh, India in 2008 and also qualified GATE in 2008. She received her Ph.D. degree from MBM Engineering College, JNVU, India in Computer Science and Engineering in 2018. She is currently working as Post Doctoral Fellow in School of Engineering and Digital Sciences at Nazarbayev University Kazakhstan in the area of Intelligent Cryptosystems, IOT and cloud in Robotics. She is designated as Associate Professor in Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Institute Coordinator, Patents and Publications at Parul University, Vadodara. Prior to that she has worked as Associate Professor in ITM Vocational University Vadodara and Quantum University Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Her overall experience is almost 14 years. She has published 36 research papers in international journals SCI, ESCI, Scopus and national/international conferences and authored four books. She has published six patents and also having 19 patents grant in her credit. Her research area includes Cryptography, Block chaining, VLSI, Cellular Automata, Machine Learning, AI chatbots, IOT, Medical imaging in Robotics and artificial intelligence. She is the Life Member of Professional Bodies such as Cryptology Society of India, IEANG and N2women society. She is serving as Conference Chair, General Chair, Technical Programme Committee (TPC) Member and a Reviewer in various Springer, IEEE international conferences, CSNT 2022, DASA'22, IAICT'2022, AIARS 2022, ISI 2022, ICCAIS 2021, ICDSIE- 2020, IAPCS 2020, ICSELM 2017, INAIT 2019, Global Open Online Conference System, WCI'18 and many more. She was invited for invited speaker/ Resource Person in TEQIP III Faculty Development Programs and in International conferences such as ICASTEM-2020. She is an Associate Editor of IAES International Journal of Artificial Intelligence (IJ-AI), International Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering (IJECE) Scopus Indexed Journal, Reviewer of Bulletin of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (BEEI) Scopus (Elsevier) and International Journal of Computing and Digital Systems (IJCDS), e-ISSN 2210-142X, Scopus Indexed Journal and Editorial Board Member: IJBST Journal Group and International Journals and Research epublications in Engineering & Science IJRPES, GRD group of journals, Guest Editor of Bentham Science, scopus indexed journal. She has been the Faculty Mentor of Smart India Hackathon and 1st AICTE Chatra Vishwakarma Award. She served as Coordinator IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial, NPTEL, Atal Incubation Center at MITS Jadan. She also organized various workshops, Industrial visits and conferences during her career. She is also working as University Examiner for Rajasthan Technical University Kota and Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur. She achieved many awards and scholarships including Nav Shakti Award by North Eastern Council, Ministry of DoNER, Government of India.Parvati-Chanda Devi and Gargi scholarships and Awards from Madan Lal Khurana, Sunil Dutt, APJ Abdul Kalam. She also got Best Teacher Award by Rajasthan Patrika Group.

Prof. Dr. Rocky Lam 

City University of Hong Kong, China

Experience: 

Graduated from the Engineering Doctorate Degree of City University of Hong Kong, Dr Lam has over 30 years IT experience working in international IT services providers and large enterprises such as Digital, Compaq, HP, and Modern Terminals Limited…etc. Dr Lam has involved in many large IT projects in different industrial sectors of Hong Kong, including government, utilities, retails, manufacturing, banking and finance as SAP and ITIL/ISO 20K consultant and auditor. Dr Lam has set up the Vantis Consulting Group, delivering IT business solutions such as Enterprise Resources Planning, Human Resources Planning and Talent Management, Internet of Things (IOT) and Big Data Analysis Projects under cloud computing for serving over thousands of customers in the Greater China, Asia Pacific and Europe regions, employing over 180 staff across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and London.
